This is how I did it.

I first sanded the lenses (sanded of the DOT numbers)
Cleaned with wax and crap remover
Painted
after paint dried wet sanded with 1800
clear
wet sand again
clear
thats what it looks like. I dont like it at all too much light and dark spots.

be damn sure to post pics of the covers when you get them, I wanna See:)

Will do. I wont get them until late next week. Front covers are on back order he said. Oh well what is a couple more days?

I purchased a set of these a few months back for the tail lights and was not happy with them myself. They attach by using velcro tabs and the problem is the tabs stick in multiple spots around the tail light. Well when the lights are on or your pressing the brake you can see little black squares all around the light from the velcro tabs where the light isn't shining through. To some it may not be a big deal, personally for me I'm pretty anal about stuff so I couldn't take it and sent them back. But hey, hopefully they will work out okay for ya! :thumb:

Use some sort of glue around the edges if you dont like the velcro..

but other than that how do the look? Good as the pics on the site?

Anyone ever tried Metalcast SMOKE instead of nightshades? Nightshades is alot more expensive and your supposed to clear coat wet sand etc. I used metal cast /smoke they sale it at autozone Its purpose is for painting chrome bumpers etc but it works great for tinting tails. If you shake it up good and give it a few good coats there are no spots and it gives a good shine not to mention it holds upto the elements. I painted my entire taillight section on the GS and that was 2 years ago. Ill try to post pics of how it looks now (sold the car to my sister)

I don't know that glue would work since the cover doesn't really sit flush to the tail light. It tends to curve and bubble out a ways from the actual surface of the light. The fitment was okay and they really did look good! A nice even, dark glossy surface. But it just didn't work for me.

Thanks for the honest reply. I kept the niteshade on in the front until the covers come but they look okay when my lights are not on but as soon as I need my lights you can see the runs.

Just got an email today, They are finally being shipped. I should get them wed.

Wow, light covers are old school. Too bad mach v sucks a$$. Anyways, I would have just paid a body shop to smoke them if I were you. Would have been about the same price.

I hate to burst anyones bubble, but it sounds like your fault. Niteshades does not run if you know what you are doing. ;)I've never had a problem with it. I love it. What clear did you use? Some will turn yellow and peel.:thumb: I am a body man, so this kinda stuff comes easy to me.

If you were a "body man" you wouldnt be using spray paint

I used actual paint on my headlights, It turned out pretty dark. It looks awsome, but not funtional at all..After redoing the headlights again, I got alot of light back, but still not enough to not get pulled over at night.. The corners look great, as well but still not enough light getting through..It's your call guy, but the covers should do nicely, plus there removable..

well I got the covers love the rear but I do not like the front. It looks great dont get me wrong but I dont like the gap between the covers and lights.

My personal opinion is that the back doesnt look right..IDK if it just the fact that the tails don't exactly match the black top too well.idk.It could just be the angle the pic was taken...The front looks sexy as hell though...Too bad for the gap but there are just covers..

Yeah the back looks just... i dont know it just looks wierd not exactly in a bad way but it just looks like a blotch that doesn't match a whole lot but it still looks BA. The front though looks sexy as hell. I hope mine turn out like that.
