Can anybody with silverstar headlight bulbs please post pics with their headlights on? thanks

silverstars are :thumb:

Check out the sig!

The bad part is that they WILL burn out on you in about a year. On my protege I replaced them about every year. I expect when this GST turns 1 year old I'll be replacing the bulbs again.

I think when I replace my silverstars again (which I will when they die out), I'll be buying 9005 silverstars and do the 9005 mod :D

stock on the left, silverstar on the right.

and dont know about u but i know people that have had silverstars for about 4 years and have had no burnouts, i have had mine for a year and a half and they are fine, maybe u touched the bulbs? but thats just my 2 cents :thumb:

I've had mine for 2 years now. No burnouts here either.

I dont know about you guys, but i bought my silverstars as a pair, and one of them looks more blue than the other... Almost like i have 2 different headlights in there. My lenses are perfectly clear too. You may want to ask if anyone else has had this problem, or if its just me.
Other than that, i love the light output of them.
-Tim

I have had mine in my truck for almost 3 years now. Just put them on the Eclipse as my bright lights. Havn't had a single problem yet. (knock on wood)

how many watts are silverstar? MY streetglow are actually 80w (not 55w=80w like the package says on all other aftermarket bulbs.) I had a set of piaa's, I tried the ebay bulbs and about two other brands except for the silverstar and my streetglows look very much like a hid kit.

I have had SilverStar's in every vehicle I have owned. And that is 6 cars/trucks. No burn out's here. SilverStar's look the best in completly clear headlights like the 2G. It makes it so you can see the purple-ish color changing effect

These are the ony ones I have of my headlights. Actually takin on accident.

I dont have a picture yet, but i just bought some silverstars like 4 days ago and i love them. I did one at a time agianest a wall, the difference is amazing. no yellow color at all. :)

what is the actual wattage of yalls silvania silverstar bulbs? where can i get the H1 and H3 silverstars at and what wattage do they come in? all the silverstar bulbs i seen dont exceed 70 watts like the seventy watt 9005 bulbs and the 60 watt 9006 bulbs. are there any higher wattage silverstar bulbs than these? thanks for the pics

AFAIK 9006 silverstars are still only 55w, which is why you should get 9005 silverstars and do the mod since 9005s are 65w. I could very well be mistaken though. One thing i'm fairly certain on is that 9005s pretty much always carry a higher current than 9006. Anyway upping the load dramatically might just end up melting your wiring harnesses, sockets, and whatnot. I've heard of a few DSMers on here running 100w H3s for a while until one day they melted their shit.

as far as the H3 silverstars, also 55w. there is no 100w silverstar H3. I dunno which would be brighter . . . 55w sivlerstar, or 100w regular.

BTW these bulbs are for projector headlights....
Will they work well in the projectors opposed to the oem housing?

pep boys has the h1 and h3s...

whats this 9005 mod... ah well I already got 9006s anyway.

now i need h3s cause the head lights are brighter and whiter than the fogs.

how exactly is the 9005 mod done?
I was just reading through and noticed you guys were talking about the 9005 mod. I did this on my 94 Accord when I had that and it worked beautifully. Just recently I went out and bought some OEM GE replacement bulbs for my eclipse and I did the mod and I just looked at the bulbs tonight and I looked inside and the shit in there was melting. So I said screw it. I put my 9006 Silverstars back in and I'm just leaving those in there right now. I don't know how many other people have had success with the 9005 mod but I wouldn't really recommend it because it will melt the inside of the bulb.

Just my .02

What is the part number for the regular low beams on 2G?

9006 is regular low beams and 9005 is brights. I have the regulars on my 2g and there worth every penny. next i want to get the brights but there another $40, sitll worth it to me :thumb: . it sucks though one of the bulbs i got was a dud the first time :thumbdown .

Sorry to revive an older thread:

My question is this: Do the silverstars fit in stock headlights? or do i need to buy some projectors of some kind? .. i just want silverstars...projector in my mind = bad :(

No you do not need projector headlights to use these bulbs. I have them on my car high and low beam with stock headlight housings. They look great, a big improvement over stock. :thumb: Just get 9005 or 9006 or both if you want both the high and low beams and they'll just plug into your stock connectors.
