Ok guys,
My daily driver is getting loud and a little annoying sometimes, since I put on a full Apexi Gt downpipe and N1 exhaust. The N1 exhaust did came with a silencer. My silly question is will the silencer reduces HP's? and does it really work in reducing decibel to around stock? I briefly try to put it on, but it didn't fit well.

I am not too sure about the loss of performance, I am sure you will lose some because of the restriction, but I have the same set up and when I had my silencer in it was not too much quieter than when it was out.

i used to have an N1 until it rotted, and i have a bootleg apexi "like" can on my car now. Its extremely loud. When i do however have the silencer in it sounds like my apexi when i didnt use a silencer. Let me tell you i feel a big difference in performance. I can tell the gases are not exiting fast enough, but for the sake of getting pulled over i leave it in. I think i can live with the few less HP i get in exchange for not getting a summons.

Ok Guys, just tried the silencer on last night. I heard some noticeable difference in decibel, which was good enough for me. Performance wise, car pulls normal until you hit the Highway on high rpm's. The car definitely felt slower and more restricting like it's on stock exhaust. This happens especially when you let off the gas. Overall, I might just leave it on because I don't like annoying loudness.

Yes the silencer does make a noticeable difference, as you've already found out & it will hurt performance think about it, you did have a 3" exhaust and its restricted to about 1" with the silencer. Have you thought about putting a 3" high flow cat in? I run a HF cat without the silencer and my car is very quiet. I wonder what would hurt performance more a 3" HF cat or the silencer?

The silencer really hurts my car up top. I have only had it on the car once and took it right out. It did cut down on the amount of noise but I am use to the exhaust now so I have no need for it. I would definately put it in if I was going on a long trip. It would help me keep my foot out of it and save me a little gas in the long run.
