side mount install

Hey guys I found a side mount intercooler from a 2g eclipse turbo, I was all ready to buy

it and get it installed until, the mechanic at the shop I go to said it would be 700.00 to

install. . He said that he would have to do a lot of cutting to get the intercooler to fit.

He also told me that if I bought a front mount it would only be 300.00 to install. should it

cost this much to have a side mount installed on a 2g rs with a turbo kit.

When you install a side mount on a 420A eclipse/talon, you install it on the driver's side just incase you or the mechanic didn't know.

You could just mount the intercooler yourself and have him make the piping.

hey thanks for the info. where exactly would be the ideal spot to mount the

intercooler? I looked on the drivers side and it seems kind of tight to mount anything in

that spot, it looks like my ecu and battery would prevent me from installing the side mount.

Just get the front mount intercooler. But $700 for installing the side mount intercooler is stupid. Its fairly easy especailly if you have one already like most 4g63's do.

Thats because you have a 1g. He as a 2g with a completely different engine.
