Should i Re-Wire my fuel pump?

Hi,
I currently am running 450cc bluetops and car losses power misfires and leans out like hell once boost kicks in, afr was like 16 therefore i let go the throttle.

I was confused why with everything stock my motor can not even deliever 10psi (BTW i have a RS motor yellow tops went bad so i replaced them, i also have a b16g). so i also installed my stock FPR to see i there is any change but NO.

so i checked fuel pump voltage, so when the car is started i could see 12V or 12.3/12.2V, my question is

- Is 12.2/12.3V very low for FP?
- Shall i rewire my pump?

rewire your pump deffantly if your plan on upping your boost above stock..one of the best basically free mods your can do bro. unless your got a wideband your 02 sensor gages is pretty much worthless dont go by that...i would rewire your pump and replace your plugs and wires and gap them to 28 and DEFF do a boost leak test not sure what colts FP is supose to be at tho bro
 
If your stock car is losing power you have other issues to attend to than putting a bigger wire to the fuel pump.
 
Your voltage seems about right for an unwired fuel pump! I always suggest rewiring them because its cheap and not only increases output but is more consistent voltage supply.
 
Is this the stock colt fuel pump? It may be even smaller than the DSM. Stop boosting until you get a better pump if you like your engine the way it is.
 
I dont have any other issue right now, no boost leak no vacuum leak. All these issue are being addressed earlier. This was the reason why I had to put off my 510cc yellow tops as well as they were clogged and giving issue.

Here is the story

I just purchased a innovate lc-1 wide bandwidth xd16. Very sweet stuff. So in my last run (first with wideband) I observed that I was over 16afr so I let go the throttle and brought it back to my home, logged into my dsm few minutes earlier to increase fuel by increase the globalsettings on each rpm, and now they are maximized to +30 across the rpm. then I started my car just now and observed almost the similar idle afr i.e. 13.8 to 14.2 at idle. Is it right? My fpr is set at 40psi with vacuum connected and around 50 without vacuum, I had increased the pressure as I couldn't see anything less then 13 afr at idle, haven't taken a run yet

Do you think there is a problem? I also double checked my fuel pump volt and it was 11.7 or 11.8v
 
This bosch pump is a lot bigger and delivers more fuel, sitting inline.
Please suggest

Hi Salmaan! It's me, Coltsfan. Are you running a vr4 MAF? I see you have that selected in your DSMLink. I thought you were switching to a 2g MAF. If you are running the 2g with that setting, I just solved your problem.

Ps. Those fuel sliders are only effective in open loop conditions such as WOT. For criuse settings, adjust the airflow sliders.

I can't believe you have them all at the top. Normally they run 9:1 AFR at stock settings, and we have to pull fuel above 3500 RPM.

I have a 2g maf with myself by havent got it installed yet as im still suffering from these issues :(
i really am stumped no matter what i do to the fuel slider the idle AFR remains at 13/14.

What do u mean fuel slider are only effective in open loop? Shall i put my dsmlink in open loop to make them effective? or just WOT will make it work?

Im still on VR4 MAF, new filter, new injectors and a almost new fuel pump. :(
 
It seems like your airflow is low at idle. Do you have a criuse log I could see?

The MAF comp sliders are better for adjusting criuse trims only, and the Fuel comp sliders are most effective at WOT when aiming for rich , under boost AFRs.

The front O2 sensor is ineffective at WOT when you're trying to run between 10:1 and 11:1 AFRs. For this reason, the ECU must run a predetermined AFR from your fuel compensation map that it cross refrenced against airflow, throttle position, and RPM.

During normal criuse, and idle situations, the ECU uses the front O2 sensor readins to keep your AFR at or close to 14.7:1. I'm wondering if your airflow sensor is bad.
