Should I get PocketLOGGER ZT? Or another wideband?

I have pocketlogger already and I now see that the PocketLOGGER ZT has been released. It looks awesome in that you can also log boost and egt temps. BUT it WILL NOT log the parameters that are on pocketlogger at the same time. Not unless I were to get another pda and use it at the same time (pointless). If I were gonna make logs I'd want them all on one screen, not 2, so I don't really care to have to get another pda and have 2 different logs. If I don't get another pda I'd either have to make a run on PocketLOGGER ZT and then switch to Pocketlogger and make another run and another log. I honestly don't see the point in this and seems totally stupid to me (because the runs aren't gonna be identical anyway). If PocketLOGGER ZT could log knock and timing as well then it'd be perfectly fine, but it doesn't.

Do any of you guys have pocketlogger and use some other wideband that you're able to use to view all the other parameters that pocketlogger has as WELL as the wideband at the same time? I can skip out on having the boost and egt feature although it'd be nice. Just wondering how you'd hook up a wideband and get it to work on the logger though. Thanks for any advice.

I know there are a few 2g guys using the rear O2 input on the ECU as an input for their widebands. However, I don't think there are any sensor inputs that would work like this on the 1g ECU...

You could possibly (worth a shot) install a toggle switch on the front O2 sensor input, and then you could connect the WBO2 output to that. All you would have to do is flip the switch when you were logging since the ECU ignores the stock O2 @ WOT anyway. You would still have to go through and convert raw voltages to AFR according to your WBO2's output. This might have some strange side effects when the ECU is in open looop at the beginning and end of a pull, but I don't know because I haven't personally tried it.

I'm not sure if that input can take a reading up to 2 volts, but if it can, and you have a programmable output on your WB, you could set it up to show 0AFR @ 0 volts, and 20.0AFR @ 2 volts. Then there will be no conversions to do at all.

Or you could switch to DSMLink, which has the conversions for just about every WBO2 output on the market programmed into it, plus the ability to connect it to an otherwise unneccesary sensor.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

I'd like to go with dsmlink but won't do it for awhile. I'll be breaking in a new motor and don't wanna be breaking it in with something I'm not familiar with at all. If I could somehow view and log my wideband at the same time as my other parameters on pocketlogger, that'd be great. Also, don't really wanna do any conversions and all. Want it plain and simple, view my wideband on my logger while viewing the other parameters at the same time...if that's possible.

There was an update awhile back and when I did it, there was an additional box added for wideband that I could click on for my parameters I wanna view. What widebands out there could I hook up to the logger to be able to use this feature?

Just get a Wideband and tap into pin 15, EGR, on the ECU, and you will be able to log Timing, knock, Wideband and whatever else you want to log together.

Cool deal. Thanks for the info. Wondering which one I should go with. PLX maybe? Something else? Maybe even a Zeitronix but not get the PocketLOGGER ZT program to run it?

I just went reading throught the pocketlogger forums. It is about time they figured out how to use the EGR input to log WBO2. It seems the support is only for PLX widebands, but you can use any of the Innovate products as well because they have programmable linear outputs. You can actually use any WBO2 with a programmable linear output.... Just have to set it up so 1v=10.0:1AFR and 5v=20.0:1AFR.

This is the same reason that I haven't purchased a WBO2 and the ZT software. I posted in the pocketlogger forums awhile ago about something that would allow you to log the WBO2 parameters along with the OBD-II parameters and have gotten no response.

You can wire the WBO2 into the rear O2 ECU sensor input, but you are limited to a 0 - 1V narrowband simulation input :notgood: , provided that the WBO2 simulation output is linear.

Does dsmlink log boost or egt's? I thought they did but I was just checking out their site and not seeing it
