allright, my car got crankwalk, so i'm going to be taking it to ams to get one of their 6bolt short blocks put in around june, now...its got wiseco 8.5:1 pistons, eagle forged rods, arp hardware, metal hg, bs eliminator, and new oil pump and such...now, i'm planning on keeping my mods that i have now, important ones are evo 16g, evo ported exhaust manifold, 3 inch exhaust, 650cc injectors, all hard pipes, hahn big sidemount, keydiver chip, clutch. i planning on a 1g head, fp1 cams, springs and retainers, maybe bigger valves, 1g intake and throttle body, but i'm planning on doing some autox, thats why i'm going small on the cams and turbo (along with the lack of money) now....am i missing any thing, basically from the long block, i don't plan on opening up this engine again, only thing i plan on doing again is a bigger turbo, and fmic maybe next year. so can anybody think of anything? thank for everybody's help.

I'm sure Eric #1 up front will discuss it with ya, but you should consider going ahead and having the block o-ringed while we build it. Its not alot of money and it makes the head gasket freaking indestructable. It would be one less thing that would never have to be on your mind.

Also don't be so quick to rule out a 2g head, especially if yours is still in good shape. They actually have better quality control on the castings and the Evos have proven that the smaller ports are in no way a restriction when it comes to making big HP. Plus using the 2g head and intake manifold simplifies the swap dramacticly, possibly making it cheaper.

now i like to hear that, bad thing is, i'm expecting everything but the cams this week, but thats allright, i can turn around and sell them. But i will definately consider that o-ring, if you say is right, that would be nice, i would like to get this turbo tuned around 25psi or so, as long as the intercooler holds up, maybe time for a fmic soon...but i'd love to do the 2.3, but i'm hearing crap about bad rod ratios and such, that might make for the engine not lasting as long cause of more cylinder wall wear, and bearing life. then i could go to a bigger turbo, cause my ultimate goal is between 400 and 450hp, but still be able to autox. so any input on that? thanks.

Stick with a 2.0L motor they are proven and relayable. I dont see any reason going to a stroker. If you want more power than just slap a bigger 50 trim turbo or some spray. I have the COMP 1 cams and drive them dayly on a P/C B16g and they would be perfect for auto X. Very strong mid range pull to 6800. I will never go back to stockers.
