Shocks vs. Struts Question

I'm trying to learn all components of suspension. I know that shocks and struts are very similar in function but differ in design. Do the 2g's use struts all the way around? And a newb question - is it possible to have both a shock and a strut on a single wheel?

Yes 2gs have Mac struts all the ways around, i dont see why or how anyone would want both, so no.

Struts have a coil spring around them. Shocks are there to help aid things like leaf springs and such..

Thats what I figured, its just people always refer to shocks and struts and vice versa so I thought I would just clear up that there was limited possibility of a single wheel actually having both. It didnt make sense to me either.
