Well I am in process of rebuilding my engine and I wanted to change my suspension as well. My car drives very rough on speedbumps, my mechanic said my cv axle (or something like that is worn) is that whats causing the roughness, or it is my struts/shocks? I'm not sure what struts or shocks I have, but my car is lowered about 2" front and 1"75 back.

if your car is lowered and if it was like that when you bought the car the owner befor may just have cut the springs that will cause it to ride rough. if it was done useing lagit parts then they may have installed them wrong and i have also heard about ebay springs and shocks riding rough

I have blown shocks/struts and my ride is terrible. Every bump i go over, i feel like the car is going to fall apart. This summer will change that. But, cv axles will not cause a bumpy terrible ride, just no ride at all. ROFL

Yea its kinda like what your describing, but only the front is all shaky, the back is fine.

had same problem when I had my stock shocks/springs and when I replace them with Tokico Adjustable Ilumina Shocks, H&R 2g Sport Springs car was driving smooth and no more bumpy ride :)

If your mechanic says its a CV tell him to show you. I dont know many cars that "drive" well on speedbumps though.
