1G Shifter?

Got a question. Can the shifter from a 90 work In a 91. Got a short throw in my 90 and a bought a 91. I tried to move just the lever to the 91 but it was totally different so I unbolted the whole unit and moved it. It also has solid bushing not the rubber ones so I moved those also the newer car. Now the problem is the cars not shifting right. Seems like it only wants to shift from 2-3. Any suggestions?

The shifter cabled and shifter bracket on the transmission is different astyles well. The pivot points are different and will give u the issues your having. Try to source out some 91+ cables and bracket or try to adjust the cables near the shifter.

Ok I will switch back to the 91 shifter and loose the short throw shifter. I never realized how many parts they changed from a 1990 to a 91. Anyone know who makes a short throw shifter? everything I see out there is for a 95+, or will those work on my car?
