I used the search but could not find the answer i was looking for. One was close .

I had just pulled an engine and tranny out of a old crappy body and put it into a new body that is perfect. i put in my new clutch and flywheel while the engine was out. For some reason my car will shif into gear but i have to hold it there. What can that be? Can i fix it? or do i need a new tranny?

i used to be a tow truck driver and my truck i drove did the same thing in third gear. im feeling dumb right now and cant remember what the problem was. i do know it was internal and i wanna say it was like the shift forks or something i dont remember my dsm has sucked all my knowledge out of me today so if i think of what it was exactly ill let you know. i do know it was internal though.

Bad syncros can cause your shifter to pop out. I had this problem before it was rebuilt.
