shifter feels sloppy

hey guys. i got a 92 talon tsi 5 speed. in first gear or any gear i can still move the stick side to side. got the skateboard bearings in the trans side cables. it seems upon inspection that the actual shifter assembly as in that moves the cables are internally worn. is there a fix for this or do i need to find/buy a new shifter assembly because the shaft is worn and or there is a sleeve that's made of plastic that's worn. anyone dissembled one of these before . ideas? thanks

What you need are 6 new bushings. 2 per pivot point. It will tighten your shifter back up as if it was new from the factory. I just went through this same problem not too long ago. They are item number MB580253 from https://www.jnztuning.com/oempartscat.html

Defenetly worth doing! I just replaced all my shifter bushings yesterday and it feels amazing!
