clutch feels soft

so I purchased the car with 2600act clutch in it, granted I bought the car now running and since have fixed timing belt which was needed. when I push the clutch in it feels like air. im replacing the slave cylinder this week. I was curious if it could be anything else. I also heard you have to shim the clutch.

Have you checked that you don't have low fluid levels?
