You can use ball bearings off a skateboard or set of roller blades and just use a couple washers and a new cotter pin. However, these are only for the underhood bushings, the shifter bushings you should probably just buy.

A guy sells them on trader for like 20 bucks, I have them, very nice pieces and they work great.

i know the ones on the shifter plate do, i have the two under the hood also. it feels alot stiffer
