shifter base mod?

hey everyone, im going to put the washers on the base of the shifter but i couldnt find anything that tells you weather or not to put the washers unders the base or under the bolt washer. if someone could help that would be nice thanks...

The washer goes between the bolt and the plate.

No, the washers replace the rubber bushings, which mount the plate to the floorpan.

but they still go inbetween the bolt and the base not under the base right?

Well, they actually go in the base. You pull out the rubber piece, and then the washers fill the hole. Ify ou get the Symborski shifter kit, you'll understand. When you put them together, they fill the hole and take the place of the stock washers that go around the rubber piece.
