So I've searched and couldn't find any information for the 1g Sharp HID installation help. Everything was 2g related. This is going on a 1g with the H4 lamps. I bought the 35w 5k hi/lo set-up if that helps.

I hooked up everything according to the installation guide provided by Sharp HID and I still couldn't get any power to the hi/lo headlights. This is what everything looks like when everything is connected...

This is what my left HID light looks like connected.

In the above pictures, I know the 3 prong connector goes into the factory lighting harness(?) and obviously the right HID light isn't connected, but you get the idea.

Can anyone help me as to why the lights won't turn on? I've read something about the polarity being different, but I don't know what that means or how I go about correcting this. Thanks for reading and any input would help. Thanks guys :thumb:

Are you connecting the H4 connector to the one connector on the vehicle? If so and you still aren't getting power you may want to check the polarity is correct. If the polarity is reversed the lights won't light up at all.

Oh the kit will need to be grounded to a good ground such as the negative battery terminal. If you have a ground on the other longer side of the harness try to ground this to a common ground point in the vehicle.

i just intalled a set on my friends 2g the big plug on the black ballest box had to be flip so instead of the lockin tab on the top it was on the bottom just my 2 cents but it worked 4 me

If the H4 connector is the 3 prong connector, then yes I am.

Yeah, I grounded it from the negative terminal of the battery, but still nothing

Ballast plug? Is this the plug that is located on the upper part of the ballast on picture one? The one with the 2 red wires coming out? I'm referring to the bottom left ballast in picture one.

Once again, thank you guys for the replies. I need my car back on the road, I can't be driving an 8 mpg suburban everywhere, LOL.

yes the 2 wire plug red and black wire just put it in upside down should turn right on

Alright, I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. Thanks turbotalon31.

As others are mentioning the polarity is most likely reversed on two out of those three wires. You'll need to do some testing to find out what ones you need flipped.

Ok, I'll give this a try and let you know how it goes. Thanks john :thumb:

After a couple of trial and errors, I managed to get the HID kit working :rocks:

Circled below in yellow is the correction I had to do to correct the polarity issue. The connectors circled in yellow had to be flipped upside down, but still managed to connect :thumb:

I'll take a couple of pictures tonight with the lights on pointing to the garage door so you guys can have a better look at the cut-off on the H4 with HID kit installed.

Thanks to John at SharpHID for the prompt responses of my PM's and the nagging I gave him :D.

Is that the 9006 connector you flipped? The small connector with two tiny wires shouldn't have to be messed with unless it came with the connectors separate from the wires. I'm just curious so I can learn regarding these vehicles.

No problem on the help. It's what we're here for :).

John

Yeah, the 2 small connector with the two small wires coming out of it were the ones I had to flip. I mixed and matched several wires trying to get it to come on and that is what worked, LOL.
