I have searched and serched and serched....
Hey, I just got KSport coilovers. I want to get them all setup before I install them. My car is under construction right now and would like to have them ready for install when the bitchass car is ready. My question pertains to setting up the height. They have 2 collars for the spring and I just snugged those up to the spring in order not to change the spring rate. The height adjustment is in the body. It seems that in order to adjust them you have to remove them from the car so I want to do it right 1st (or close to it). How do I adjust them so that the front and rear are even, since the front and rear are different lengths. I also want the car to be lowered to the point of about a 1/4" of wheel gap, I do not want it slammed as that is not functional. I am open to suggestions on the height I should set the car at. here is a pic of the front and the rear setup side by side, the front is on the right and the rear is on the left. The whole bottom of the shock body is what you adjust the height with, it turns to move up or down on the threaded shock, then you lock it down with the 3rd collar on the bottom.

You do not have to take them off to adjust the height. You can loosen the bottom collar and spin the threads by hand. I've done it a few times on my car. I'd say count roughly 12 -14 threads from the bottom of the 2 collars to the top of the bottom collar. Say 14 threads inbetween and that should be a good starting point for you. Use a small screwdriver when counting, other wise it's hard to keep track. LOL

Adjusting the collars under the spring is not going to change the spring rate, just the ride height. The entire assembly does not need to be removed to make adjustments, just spin the collars like was mentioned already. Also, until you actually have them on the car there is no way to pre-adjust them so everything is perfect.
