Hey guys I just got my 4 bolt rear and I dont really plan on installing it before I install my built motor but I'm looking for ways to freshen her up. I want to make sure she'll last after installing her.
I checked out the boots and they all look good. The bushings look like bushings in a 15 year old car. None cracked that I could see...
Are there any bushings that energy suspension has replacements for that I could change out now instead of later?
The car had around 140k and even the exhaust was stock soooo...

I planned on:
changing the diff fluid
checking the rear wheel bearings for play
I also thought about taking all the boots off and adding new lube

Anyways, i've never swapped out a rear end in our cars before and I want to do this RIGHT. I've never checked clearances in a rear diff before...i guess I could follow the manual.
I dont like doing things twice. I REALLY dont like doing things twice. So...
Give me some pointers on how to make this a one time job only. Mod once mod right.:thumb:
:talon:

Edit:
Whats the deal with the abs...I dont have it in the car the LSD will be going in and i'm not even sure the car that it came out of had it. Do i need to cap anything off?

Sorry about the pics...the g/f took them...go figure... I was like take a picture of both sides and I got THAT!

Actually I'm in the proccess of overhauling my rear end. I ordered energy suspension complete rear control bushing, end links, sway bar bushings. new wheel bearing and seals. the CV boots were still good, and for cost i'm not replaceing them now, but I plan on going with Drive shaft shop's level 5 upgrade. also I disassembled the entire rear end and had it all sand blasted to clear any corrosion, and have it all powder coated. You can get all the energy suspension bushings @ www.ultrarev.com I did some price searching and they had the best price. also if you want to upgrade the sub frame bushings www.shearerfabrications.com have a CNC alluminum bushing. really nice. all this is for a full preped raced 1st gen. So I don't think you need to do all this, but just to give you some ideas. Good luck
