1998 Spyder GS-T mods in sig

So, after the car is all warmed up and running perfectly normal, I'll be cruising in any gear around 2500-3000 rpm and give enough gas to spool the turbo to 16 psi give or take. The turbo starts screaming, the exhaust roars louder, the rpms shoot up... the car doesn't accelerate. Clutch is out right?... simple fix, just need a second opinion in case there's something I'm not thinking about. peace....

Clutch, especially if you smell something burning if you have the windows down.

Don't do that too much to your car. Slipping the clutch like that at high RPMs = flywheel that can't be resurfaced because it's so warped. Worst case, the clutch can also overheat and grenade, which may send sharpnel into/out of everything in that area.

Bottom line: try to keep the clutch from slipping as much as possible until you get it fixed. :)

I've had the car for over a year and never launched it so I know it's not race related or worn from abuse. I never did smell anything and I think it's the original clutch so at 60K it's probably just plain worn out. I haven't even boosted in the last 3 days (it's so hard!) so I think I'm ok until my parts get here. thanks for the advice.

Here's the next question. I looking at the ACT 2100 and the Centerforce DF set up. Which holds more power? I'm sticking the EVO III turbo on and most likely getting some larger injectors/FM in the near future also. Would the ~2500 lb CF preasure plate be more suitable?
