i want to get the B&M short throw shifter.

is it any good?

any other brand reccomendations?

should i just not go with a short throw ?

thanks

IW,

i have a short throw in my 1st gen, i like it and their a pretty good investment, but its really up to you, mines a pacesetter short shifter, so i dont really have any experience with a B&M so i cant help you there, but its worth a shot. Good Luck! :dsm:

thanks for the reply!

i want one just dont know what to get realy.

i kind of like the option of the B&M but skeptic of B&M quality.

Moved to General forum

Yes B&M is the best short shifter for a 2G, I have and have tried other short-shifters and the B&M is the best.

he just said and you quoted him saying its a " pacesetter "

well it seems that i will get the B&M. thanks for moving this post. i apolligize for posting it in the wrong forum.

Well, since you wanted opinions...

Aren't those pretty spendy? Like 120 or somthing? Since you don't have any mods yet, I would invest it into some "performance" bolt ons: a mbc, plugs, wires...something before a shifter.

That's just me though. Do what ya want.

good advice thanks!

i have a intake and a set of NGK plugs, MSD wires, and MBC allready. just not installed yet. i want to do this one step at a time so if i have a problem there was only one thing installed at a time. i will know what was done last. this will make it easier to resolve any problems i might run in to. i thought this short shifter mod will not affect anything at all and be simple to do. i am still buying many more parts. i just dont have a place to be working on this car as of yet. i have too many notices at the apartment complex i am at and can not afford to be evicted for working on a car.

thanks for the reply.

If you're sure you want to do a short shifter next you should honestly do a sybroski shift kit (www.machv.com) also with it to keep the plate sturdy when banging gears.

i was thinking about that. i have the metal busshings for the cables that attach to the transmission. ( not installed yet ) but thats a good point. i am orderig those next!
