I have a chance to buy 1991 AWD Manual long block 6bolt with turbo in the junk yard for $225 or $350 to have someone pull it out for me. Its a rear find to be sittin in this junk yard but, there it was. Usually these engines been pulled and just the bare body remains. That car also have tranny, t case, drive shaft, rear end still attach to the body(looked like this car just got in the same day i was there).
At the house i already have spare 6bolt block. But, its missing front case, water jacket, oil pan and etc...i only have block, crank, rod and pistons. I also have a spare complete 1g head sitting in the garage ready to go.
My question is, should i go ahead and pay somebody to pull the long block out and buy it? Or should i just take out what i need form that long block in the junk yard like front case, water jacket, oil pan and etc... and leave the block and head alone? Or should i just forget about it and maybe get the 14b turbo?(i do have ebay turbo im not sure about).
If i did get the whole long block and turbo, this could bring a total to $400 dollars.
Thanks for your honest opinion...
