"Seattle to Yak N' Back" DSM Meet & Cruise - August 16th

I like the idea of making it a all weekend'r but 1) There's not a whole a lot to do here in Yaks, especially if you're under the drinking age; and 2) I think a lot of people wouldn't want to spend the cash to do an outing like that.

Also, I'd rather everyone meet up on one day and come over, then split the group up into two. It'd be much funner rolling 40 deep as opposed to 20 one day and missing out on the other 20 coming the next.

Unless, other people are actually down to do an all weekend event here in Yakima, the only other thing I can think of is to make the Issaquah meeting time earlier and then bump up the Yakima arrival time.

Oh, for clarification... it was me that mentioned driving over to Seattle the Saturday before the meet and then staying the night so that I could meet up with everyone on the Westside. There's no way I'm going to miss out on a potential 40+ DSM cruise across Snoqualmie.

The two day meet thing would be nice if enough people did it.. Like carboneclipse said there isnt much to do here, but it would be bad ass to be cruising around saturday night with a big group of DSM's... we would finally out number all the hondas... I dont think many people would want to stay the night here though...I mean... we could always all go back to a hotel and get drunk and stir up shit...LOL...have a little dsm gathering you know, but like I said I really dont know how many people would want to stay here..

Maybe having everyone meet on the saturday in the Seattle area would be sweet. There is lots to do on this side. Then we all bomb over the pass sunday morning and back sunday night. That would be a sweet ride. Just a suggestion, and if that isnt cool with everyone I would stay the night in Yakima as well. Whatever works

Im down...Oh shit I live down here...we can cruise it or go some where and have a bon fire... but once the news gets out that we are gonna be having an event here, im sure we will get a huge turnout not just of dsms but other performance vehicles. it will be fun.

Okay.. I'm seriously considering changing the date for this meet to coincide with an annual lowrider cruise that happens twice every summer here in Yakima. The lowrider cruise here usually kicks off about 9:30ish and lasts til about 1:00 in the morning (when the cops finally shut down the Ave.) and brings out just about every hooked up car in the Yakima Valley... not just lowriders. It would be great to have a HUGE DSM group to represent!

This would be the perfect event to make an overnight East Side meet worth the stay here in Yakima. If people are interested, then post that you'd like to make the change. Just about everything will stay the same as far as schedule-wise, but we could probably push the arrival time later into the afternoon/evening. Also, I'd add a stop after we eat, to swing by a carwash and get everyone's cars cleaned up from the drive over... after that, on to the cruise and the largest group of Latin girls any of you West Siders have probably ever seen. :)

For the record, the lowrider cruise is usually the last weekend in August, but I'll have to do some double checking to make sure that's the case this year.

:thumb: You can count me in, sounds like a blast.. so that looks like the 30th and the 31st right?

Yeah it would be the 30th and 31st.. Derek is still gonna check and be sure that thats the date though.. And yeah it is pretty crazy, there are SO many cars out. It would be badass to have a big group of DSM's.. If any of you are interested in lowriders there is also a lowrider show on Sunday after the cruise.

Nodoubt i used to roll a lowrider truck for a few years, id love to come see the show...

guys this is sounding very nice and I'm going to post a Portland/Vancouver to Yak to come on up to the fun stuff. travel time isn't too bad especially for a two day run. Some very nice roads on the way both squirrlies and straight aways.

hey did you lock in this as a change ? 30th 31st of august,, i wanna make sure im planning right.

After looking into it, the dates for the lowrider cruise look to be the very first weekend in August this year. I can't plan the event for that weekend, as I'll already be out of town. I'm going to change the date to the 16th though, which is the same weekend as originally planned, but it'll be on Saturday instead of Sunday. That way hopefully more people will want to make the trip and if they feel like staying overnight, then they can.

you can always cruise the streets you know that at jack and 40th there is always action on a sat night and if not you can always find a place to do a bonfire and a midnight bbq. ask daniel berber about that one that is all we did last summer after crusing the streets.

if you guys do this i will send my brothers in the mirage and ill have them go up with derik to the west side so that they can cruise over to yaks with the pack
