Seat memory in 2g

this should be a easy ques, in my 98 GSX on my seat i have a button that you can save where your seat it, i read my manual and it said hold it down til it clicks, i did that and it didnt work, is their a special trick or something

How far back do you lean the seat? I find on my 97 GS-T that it will only work to a point, about one click back from vertical. I don't know if that's supposed to be the case, though.
