I scoured the forums looking for this . A couple times my drivers side automatic shoulder strap has locked up and normaly i just pull it back in some and it comes back out. On my way back from a nice little road trip the other day it locked up and I haven't been able to loosen it since. the only way i can pull it out is if i go about 1/2 an inch a second, seriously. and sometimes that doesnt even work. i tried giving it a good tug and ended up decking myself in the face when somehow it unlocked.. I really need to fix this because i have to somehow find a way to get my seat beat to loosen up everytime i get in the car and then i cant really lean forward or anything. I'd appreciate the help on this. the lap belts don't always retract too well but i'm not as worried about them.. I haven't tried to get to my seat belt assembly yet, maybe tomorrow if it's nicer outside. Thanks!

anyone? I took apart my center console to see if there was anything noticibly wrong, and I couldn't see. The picture really doesnt' help much but i'll include it. Am i going to have to replace my seat belts? What other makes will work with my car?(93 tsi awd).. any suggestions, i'll take it!! thanks.

I have the same problem. Best I can figure out is to replace the belt or just go with harnesses. If there is a fix I would be interested tho :thumb:

Yeah i figured i'd have to replace the belts unless someone knows a good technique.. but i heard harness' were not street legal so I can't much go with them. Have you already replaced yours, or are you still dealing with the problem? I'm trying to figure out what other makes and models' belts will fit my car. It wont be much to pick out a set at a junkyard but i'm not sure whats good..
