Hey everyone my name is Evan I've been a member for quite a while not as long as some but more then others. I just recently purchased my second 1998 GSX. Now I've only had the vehicle for a little over 2 weeks. I bought the car for $2700 with 232k on it the motor has a little over 110k and the trans almost 80k. I am currently an auto mechanic so I'm very well capable of fixing anything in that aspect of the car but the problem I'm faced with is rust specifically on the strut towers I received a ballpark estimate this morning from a very reputable body shop in Eldersburg,MD ( Jt's Collision Repair) of $3000 to fix both strut towers. I'm backed into a corner cause I myself have never picked up a welder or have performed any type of body work what do I do? Id like to sell the car to someone who has the knowledge to save this car while its still possible someone who will take care of it. I'll post pictures around 2ish of the car and the rust.

sound like they have replacement of the towers. the left side don't look to bad. The really story will be after the suspension and such is removed and paint is gone to see the real state of the metal. The right side would worry me. Apron replacement is very involved for some one not use to body work. Id get a few estimates though. Not to take away from JT's they do great work.
