I am not a newbie but figured it to be a newbie question, How does the AFC stay in a AFC bezel? Say its the one that goes in your middle vents. All it looks like to me is a flat piece of metal with nothing behind it so thats why im asking.

its prob a force fit - the sides of an AFC are tappered.
at least thats how the ones i make fit. ( sept mine are more then just flat steal )
