SAAB Garret FMIC?

I was just curious....for $50 i can get my hands on a stock Garret FMIC from a 99-00 SAAB 9-3 Turbo, in very good shape actually, and its even black

My question is, does anyone know how well these flow. I know it seems like im being cheap and rigging my car, but im in school now and have no money, so if this would work better then my stock sidemount, i'd consider it.

So will it flow?...if anyone knows and could help me out it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I don't have flow #'s, but maybe this will help. How much HP does the Saab come with stock? You generally don't want an IC from a car that makes less power than yours.

What are the dimensions of the IC? I've seen earlier versions of Saab IC and they are too thin to flow well. A thin IC will cool well, but it will have too much pressure drop. Look for an IC that's around 2.5" to 3.5" thick. HTH

Those Saab ICs are bigger then our Radiators and about half as thin. I dont think it flows very well and there will be no where to mount that big mother under your bumber...

Na man don't half ass on a piece of equipment that has so much effect on your performance. If it isn't at least 2 1/2 inches thick (3 inches is better) than it isn't worth it. If your on a budget the Probe Turbo intercooler is not a bad choice. The CORE is like 8 tall by 12 wide by 3 inches thick. The tanks flow from top to bottom. However the IN/OUTLETS are only 1 3/4. So changing them to 2 inches or greater is necessary. The Starion is also another good choice. You can pick one up on EBAY for $50.00-$100... Also Issani has FMIC on EBAY for $250 delivered to your door (6' tall by 26' long by 3 inches thick. IN/OUTLETS are 2 1/20)..

Bottom line is that there are several FMIC's off other vehicles that will work fine. Just run the demensions by some of the guys on this site and I'm sure someone will steer you in the right direction.
