rust on brake disc

We've had the car on jacks with the wheels off for about 3 weeks waiting to put in a replacement transmission and clutch. In the meantime the brake discs have gotten rusty. Should we have them resurfaced or will the rust just get knocked off the first time we use the brakes?

I almost forgot to ask..has anyone used the Luk Pro Gold clutch? It looks like a decent heavy duty clutch for a reasonable price (~$210) vs $350 for ACT or Centerforce.

your brakes should be fine. as long as there is not a huge amount of deep rust, the surface will be cleaned by the brake pads.

That's what I figured. It is just surface rust, you can almost rub it off with your finger. Thanks for the confirmation.

Yes. First touch of the pads will polish it off with the leading edge. Harmless.
