runs rich off throttle

i recently race my car at the track a few days ago and when i left the track i noticed my car was running a little richer and usual, but my biggest worry is when i completely off the throttle the car would stay rich for about 10sec or more before dropping off. i tried changing the spark plug but that did not fix the problem. does any one have idea what causing it.

It could be because you are vent your BOV and aren't running a GM maf and translator.

I'm not running a gm mas air flow sensor. the air/fuel was good up until i raced it. but i will install the OEM bov this weekend to see if it makes a difference. thank you for your help

How are you monitoring your a/f? If you are using an a/f gauge then it's not accurate.

Right, if you are using narrowband a/f then it will not be very accurate, it is not the gauge that is inaccurate but rather the narrowband sensor, wideband is the way to go but if you cant then with a logger you can tune low throttle with fuel/o2 trims and WOT for knock. Also, if your BOV is not recirculated then it will run richer while shifting between gears.

i know if i vent my bov that the car would run rich for a second or two, iv been venting for at least 2 years. but my car is running rich for more like ten seconds or more and i noticed when i floor the throttle the car runs three lines richer on the gauge then usual. I'm going to see if installing the OEM bov makes any difference tomarrow if the weather good. thank for all the help

I'm still kinda noob, but wasn't that the problem with venting the blow-off? The amount of air going in isn't read properly by the MAF and the car runs rich. Or am I thinking of something else...
