runs like crap after rebuild

i just rebuilt my motor in my 1g and its all back together and it runs but it runs very weird, it doesnt idle right even when i play with the idle speed screw, it doesnt let me drive very fast and when i floor it , it boggs down and sputters, it seems to be consuming alot of fuel, and the factory boost gauge reads like 14 lbs when im going like 20mph at like 2000rpm. so my guess it some kind of horrible vacuum nightmare and i was wondering if someone has had this problem before and if someone could give me a link to a vacuum diagram so i can figure this stuff out and drive my car! Input is appriciated WTF

The factory boost gauge doesn't directly measure boost. Is your mas plugged in?

Do a boost leak test, make sure all conections are correct and vert tight, and make sure CAS in is the correct way it may be 180 out. After that get back to us and tell us what you found.

MAS sensor, and boost leak are great places to start. Also, double check that all your plugs are plugged in around the manifold and that your plug wires are going to the correct cylinders.

Also make sure the timing marks are lined up.

The Timing is on perfectly and i know the spark plug wires are going to the right cylenders, but it is very possible that the cas is 180 out. Also it is very possible that i might have a boost leak. Ill get back to everyone after i make some changes, thanks for the help

My money'd be on a sensor. I know I broke 2 on my last rebuild, very fragile.

i rotated the cas, with no effect, took out the plugs and regapped them. the plugs were badly fouled. Also i found a broken off plug sitting on top of the tranny, and i found a wire that sits near the back of the TB, the wire is green. the plug is long and black and has a circular recessed plug inside of it. i also didnt bolt up the plug that sits on the left side of the intake manifold, it is a grounding system of some sort. thats a problem im sure but i dont know that it could make my car run this bad. input is appriciated! WTF

Is there a way to tell the correct position the CAS should be in, or is it always a matter of trial and error?

4 . Rotate the motor to Top Dead Center (TDC) #1 cylinder. The cam alignment pins will be at 12:00. The timing marks will be lined up at 3:00 on the exhaust cam and 9:00 on the intake cam. Those two marks will be lined up directly through the centerline of the cam bolts in the center of the pulleys.

5. Align the marks on the 1G CAS to TDC and Install. Set the CAS at its mid-range of adjustment

Check your sensors starting from the prime ones..

For example.

I think you may have snapped or disconnected your coolant temp sensor...

Check it and fix it.. It will run way rich if reading wrong as it thinks it is still cold.

Also check your O2 sensor...

i just tested the ignition and as it turns out one of the coils in the ignition pack is burnt, so the car has been runing off 2 cylinders the whole time, . Im hoping this is the end of my problems!
