Running rich, not sure what fuel pump I have.

So like the title says, my car is running rich. it only does it when the car is warmed up, I believe. I smell fuel inside the car, my gas mileage is the worst I've ever seen and when I take off I have a bit of black smoke come out of the tail pipe.

When I bought the car, the guy told me it had an evo 9 fuel pump, but I'm not sure how to tell if it is. The pictures I've seen of evo pumps it shows them black, and my pump is gold (in color of course.)

Anyway, I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem, I don't have upgraded injectors, or an afpr.

My mods are:
Evo3 16g ported w/34mm flapper
Evo3 o2 housing ported
Evo3 exhaust manifold ported
MBC
1G bov unmodded
Boost at 15psi
Greddy FMIC
Ngk plugs gapped at .028
3" downpipe back to apexi exhaust
Dejon tool intake
Full intercooler piping upper and lower 2.25"

And that's pretty much it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and I have done a boost leak test, everything is good. I have a small leak from the throttle body shaft seal, but its not enough to cause a problem, I was still able to pressurize to 20 and slowly bleed off.

So basically your telling us that you have no idea what fuel pump you have. So why dont you go out and get yourself a AFPR and set it up so you know what fuel pressure you have. Because I haven't heard of a 190lph or a evo fuel pump over running the stock regulator.

Wideband would be great so when you say your running rich you know that your running rich.

Well I would love to be able and go buy new things for my car. If I had the money I would.

I know a regulator would help with running rich, I also know that a wideband would tell me the same thing. I've read up on everything. The question I'm asking is, is there a way to find out what fuel pump I have to be sure if its the fuel pump problem or something else.

I'm trying to fix this on as little money as possible.

Evo9 pump is gold i believe. The evo8 pump is dark green colored. You shouldn't need an AFPR with it as it flows a little more than an evo8.. My evo8 pump works great on stock fpr.
I would do a boost leak test and go from there.

your going to have to pull the fuel pump to find anything out. Hell for all we know you could have a fuel pump for a boeing 747.

Pull it and tell us what numbers are on it.

And if your O2 sensor(s) were malfunctioning, you may have similar symptoms (crap gas mileage, rich gas smell, etc.). There's a quick way to test them with a multimeter in the FSM.

Ok I just replaced the o2 sensor cause I believed it was faulty.

Still didn't fix the problem.

Oh and seeing that I work on 747's along with every other boeing commercial jet, I'm sure its not a 747 fuel pump.

I did find the problem of why I'm smelling so much fuel, and I really didn't expect it. The fuel return line. It had a clamp n it, but the clamp was too loose, I guess over time they spread. At idle I was able to see fuel seeping from the line, so I can only imagine what would happen at full throttle.

I replaced the clamp with a worm clamp, and no more leaks.
Now I'm not sure if it has affected the gas mileage, or the running rich problem, as I have only drove to work this morning which is a 10 min drive.
