My name is Nate and I’m new to the page. I have a 98 GSX that is running really lean. Now mind you I just got this car. It has a Spark Tech setup with a MSD as well and a SAFC2. Now from what I have been reading there is no reason to run the MSD if I have the Spark Tech setup and that is more than likely why I’m running so lean is this true ? Please help me out !!!! Thank you.

I doubt anything related to spark is going to cause your lean running.
Closed loop the O2's will cycle and use st/lt trims to keep things at stoich.
If you're not getting into closed loop operation I would start looking there and possibly for air leaks if you have a maf.
Open loop doesn't use O2's and if the tuning is off your fuel can be rich or lean and the trims won't make adjustments.

I have not done a boost leak as of yet. But that is next on the list of things to try. I’m also going to check around the MAF sensor and see if there is a seal problem.
