Just rebuilt my turbo T-28 now, and my car smokes. When my turbo died, I found a lot of oil in my lower intercooler pipe, so oil was going into the motor. I'm thinking all the smoke now is from all that oil left in the exhaust, intake, etc. When I turn the car on, it doesnt smoke. If I do a hard pull in 3rd it begins to smoke. It smells like oil. I checked for shaftplay and there isnt any. There is also no oil on the blades. so i'm thinking its leftover oil. If it's running lean, which it probably is since i had a t-25 before, would it smoke?

The smoke could definately be the left over oil. I would watch it and see if it gets better. Also your car is probably running lean due to the increased airflow from the new turbo. I would recommend you get some type of fuel management to compensate. The car being lean though would not cause the car to smoke.

I have an S-afc2 with 660 injectors. I knew it wouldnt smoke if I was running lean. I just wanted to make sure. I was trying to convince someone that. I'll get it re-tuned after "breaking in" the turbo. Is there a specific way to break it in? I was told no boost, for the 1st 500 miles, then change the oil.
