Ok I am working on getting my wifes non turbo 2.0 1g back on the road. I finished the motor build and Started the car up and it spits pops and jerks. Im running a non turbo motor non turbo injectors non turbo fuel pump and non turbo ECU with a turbo MAF(all honeycomb removed) and turbo wiring harness. If I unplug the MAF the car runs perfect except the high idle and really rich. Also with the MAF plugged in if im at WOT it doesnt spit and pop. Any thoughts before I crush her:confused:

..wonder if you put back on the NT equipment related to the setup that things will settle down. Got the belt timed in okey with marks aligned up with proper adjustment of the adjuster?

Check for vacuum leaks, for your description of sputtering and jerking sounds like vacuum leaks everywhere.

Get things back in the closed loop, so to say.

Timing is dead on. The only Vacuum lines on the car are for the FPS & FPR and there brand new all others have been removed. And if it were vacuum why would it run perfect without the maf hooked up? I have been told the turbo MAF will work just as good as the n/t and if thats true its great that I wont have to cut my harness up.

MAF is your problem, when you remove that honeycomb thats what it will do..put it back if you still have it, hope you didn't crush it and tossed it..if you did, find the three peice honeycomb from somewhere..GoodLuck!

I wish i did have the honeycomb but it was the one that came on my gst when I bout it but I put the GM maf on my car before I ever tried it. Off to the j yard:thumb:.

If the car runs better without the MAF, then that pretty much sums it up. The car is supposed to run better with the MAF. The turbo and non-turbo aren't the same part. I bet the ECU doesn't like a single thing that MAF is telling it. I think you'll need a wiring diagram, a harness connector for a NT MAF, and an NT MAF.

Ok well I got a similar problem but I have a Turbo and stock maro it spits and sputtered and blow black smoke. Anseers?
