RRE 1g TB Swap Questions

I have a 1g TB off a 91 in my garage I am going to swap over this weekend hopefully if I can get a questions cleared up, what is the throttle stop they are referring to in #3?


RREs  Eclipse 2G Turbo 1G Throttle Body Swap


Closed TP Switch and TP Sensor Adjustment [2G]

1. Disconnect the connector of the TPS.

2. Connect ohm meter between terminals 3 and 4.

3. Insert a feeler gauge with thickness 0.45mm (.0177 in.) between the throttle stop and the throttle lever.
[Fold a piece of paper in half 4 times if you don't have the feeler -Ed.]

4. Loosen the TPS mounting bolts. Turn the TPS all the way counter
clockwise.

5. Check for continuity in this condition.

6. Slowly turn the TPS clockwise until the point where continuity and
non-continuity is found (pins 3 and 4).

7. Tighten the TPS mounting bolts.

8. Check the voltage between pins 2 and 4 of the TPS with the ignition
switch on, but the engine not started.

9. Standard value: 400 - 1000 mV

10. Remove the feeler gauge.

Throttle stop is the spot on the TB where the cable stops. You can move the metal bracket that opens the throttle plate, when you let go it his the stop. Its a sensor you can adjust in and out. They just want you to keep it close to where it was so when you put in the new TB it wont have a messed up idle.

ok so on the 1g TB I would put the feeler gauge in between the sensor and the bracket on the return spring?

step 6 isnt there continuity and non continuity not both at the same time where does it have to tighten down at? is it when there is conituity? you cant have both continuity and non continutiy in one spot it only one or the other

Are you going to use the 2G TPS? If so then yes, you put the feeler gauge in between the pulley and the IPS on a 1G TPS.

yea I am swapping everything over from my 2g TB. So I will put the Feeler gauge in between the area I have pictured and like asrdave said do I go with continuity or non continuity it is one or the other I would imagine continuity right?

also will the 2g idle screw work on the 1g throttle body? somebody robbed it out of the TB but I got the TB for free so I cannot complain.

You want the point right were it switches. It (the TPS internal IPS) should be open with the gauge installed and closed with it removed.

The BISS is the same between the two if that is what your talking about. You might want to get a fresh o-ring for it.
