I have been on the VFAQ looking at the electrical stuff... Is the engine ignition signal the RPM signal? I just want to double check before hacking any wires... Thanks

Not directly. The tach signal comes from a special tacho circuit inside the power transistor module which OR's the 2 ignition signals together.
