As the title describes, my mechanic changes stock 1g lifters for new Topline revised lifters 3g.
And the car starts roughly, (like a heavy modiffied V8 car) even can get idle without press throttle.
We check everything, from plugs, cables, injectors, and everything was fine.
leave the car one day more at mechanic to get lifters revised again.
Now the car can idle but not as it used to be, seems like something is wrong there.
I drive the car to work today, and take some logs on ecmlink, at wot is running great, but idling is not good.

I have no idea on what is going wrong. :banghead:
Maybe the car is fine, and is the way revised lifters work??

The lifters themselves shouldn't affect idle. Were the cams and/or t-belt removed to do the lifter swap?

Do you know if the lifters were bled prior to install? You should be able to compress them by hand at the time of install. Remove the valve cover and make sure that all the rocker arms are in place and the valves are opening and closing when spinning the motor by hand. If you think you had valve-piston contact it's probably a good idea to do a leak down test.

Ok, we send the head for inspection and maintenance.

The machining guys says it was in good condition. Then we proceed to reinstall everything and the mechanic says he have problems with timing marks alignment, camgears get aligned but not crank sprocket!
The marks end 1/2 teeth off.

We assembly everything and check if valves can get close to pistons. Then we start the engine and it starts doing just the same rough idle.

Is the 1/2 teeth causing this? as far i know 1/2 teeth is about 4 degrees?

OK, the car is running strong again.

In the end we make an "adjustable idler pulley" to match all the timing marks to exact tolerances.
Also a nice set of urethane injector seals.
And 3g lifters.

Resolved.
