rod bearing question

I have heard of a few people that have spun rod bears on the 4g63. Which rod is it the normaly spins or is just random?

Whichever one gets the least oil or detonates the hardest. It's pretty random.

ive had two spin on me and they were both the 4th cylinder rod.

Thanks guy. I was going to take one rod end off and one main cap just to check sence I don't know how much my car was beat before I got it.

You will know if you got a spun bearing. The rod should have very excessive play back and fourth. Like able to wiggle it.

well if you are gonna take them off and go thru all that work you might as well replace them while you are in there and be happy ### u know u shouldnt spin a bearing.

If it's a 7 bolt and you plan on using the engine, don't remove the cap to look and put it back on, the rod bolts are TTY, and you will need to replace them if you lossen the nuts.
