at WOT my wide band starts to max out at ten, black smoke starts to poor out the exhaust and boost jumps to around twenty ( i took the boost controller off and it still dose it ) what could cause this here are some of the mods

AFPR
250 LPH fuel pump
TD05 turbo
Greddy type S BOV

2g's stock run like 9.6:1. So what your seeing is totally normal. You need an AFC or similar to lean things out.

Now would be a good time to get DSMlink; go ahead get some injectors while your at it.:thumb:

You also may need to upgrade the wastegate flapper on your turbo.

I can't believe I'm the first to say. "boost leak".

before this started happing my car would hold 10psi and drop to 11 on the wide band and now its spiking to around 20psi and burning hella rich i will check for boost leeks tonight and let you guys know.

one day i will get a dsm link when i have the cash
:talon:

I dont know if it will make a huge difference but I am sure that if you dont recirculate your blow off valve it will cause it to run rich, but yours is recirculated so thats not the problem.

Mine had the same symptoms. Turns out it was a combination of 3 separate boost leaks and torn vacuum line going to the wastegate actuator. Do the boost leak test. Best thing I ever did for the overall performance of my DSM.

ok so i did a boost leak test on the car and it was the waste gate that was leaking so i went and picked up a blown 14b for ten bucks put the waste gate from it on and now the car runs great

Thanks for the help :thumb:

Don't tell people the wrong thing please. The only way it will make the car rich is when you SHIFT. This is because the air is supposed to go back to the intake and that air has already been metered by the MAS so it goes rich BECAUSE that air isn't being inhaled by the engine. This will slow the re-spool of the turbo and also might even risk getting gas in the oil sump from bad piston rings. None the less, it is still bad so no one should do it without a proper setup for it. Just setting things straight for anyone else that comes across this thread :thumb:.

OP: Congrats on getting it fixed.

Hahha its called BOOSTIN! Gotta keep things cool so fuel it is, 2 much fuel will slow you down, Lean things out just a bit and you will get better speed. Be carefull tho. I wouldnt reall worry 2 much..like 94cyclone said its normal. I run quite rich as well with a stockie t25

Actually, since a lot of 1g/2g bov's leak, it wouldn't be just when you shift.

ya i had stock lines on it but the 20psi came from the waste gate being broke it also caused the boost leak right at the waste gate so thats why i was running so rich :talon:

Agreed, and i know this from experience with both my first gen. and my second gen. And I dont really think i gave wrong information my statement was true. I just didnt explain it as well or at all. So I wasnt wrong just didnt include Why it causes it to go rich.
