Riced out DSMs

So me and a buddy went to Sugar Mountain today, and guess what i saw? a 96 GS-t. But it was totally ragged. Stock as a rock besides the fact that he had the muffler cut off, and had some no name BOV that was atleast 5inches tall. so tall in fact that it would hit the hood. so guess what he simply removed the hood. how cool right? NOT. Sorry for the bad words about our fellow tuners. People like that give us bad names, and i hate it. Enough said. sorry tuners, i had to vent.

Yeah i see that all time around here, it's sad too, nothin worse than when your driving down the road and see a dsm that is totally ruined because of that kinda stuff.

See it all the time here its sad because they think their GS is Uber fast with NOS octane booster in it I asked a guy once why he has 2 tachs and a Gaint spoiler and he corrected me saying " Its a wing and the tach is because my car is fast" I act like WOW COOL can I see under the hood and opted not to and Im like so what do you have. His Exact words


HIM: "Its has a turbo and the BOV is turned off so you cant hear it"
ME: So a turbo huh what kinda and you got headers? (obviously you cant have headers and a turbo)
HIM " Yeah they are greedy (not greddy) and the turbo is big
ME: Greedy Huh? Heard they are straight JDM

And I pulled away from him like no ones business. He had NOTHING done to it it was all show no go

My favorite is when you see a busted up front bumper and like half a body kit. People just never get around to finishing what they started it seems. Poor ricers

It seems like so many people with DSM's want to be "Fast and Furious" and just don't know anything about there cars. I remember a guy with a BONE STOCK gst and full UNPAINTED body kit told me that the body kit took 2 seconds of his quarter because of the Aero Dynamics I walked away in shame.

I have seen so many "dsm's gone bad" that I have made it a point to take the time to ask, in a nice way, if they would want any help with the body work on there cars. Being a body shop guy and a DSM owner I would rather take some time to at least try and get them "started down the right path" then have them driving around misrepresenting the DSM community. I've only had 1 young kid agree to and actually follow through with my offer, but hey you gotta start somewhere right? Let the honda/acura guys keep there big wings and 10K tachs, cleaner is better!

I see alot of those unfinished body kits... Some lady tried to race me today in my daily...she was driving a 92 Suburban...WTF

A few months ago a riced out N/T moved into my town. All white (body, rims, and even interior plastic), looks pretty ugly. Total body kit, big metal wing, and a painted black hood (not cf). He also has some cheap looking exhaust on it. Embarrasing to me when I drive past it.

I've seen a few riced out DSM's but no wears close to how many riced out civics I've seen (is there such a thing as a non riced out civic ). Don't want to offend anyone who own's one, but it seems 99% of the time, its the N/T DSM's that are the riced out ones.

a blow off valve is still rice if the person driving it thinks it's amazing. I've seen a lot of dsms that have turbos and kids just rev and blow off like it's something special. Show boating, sorta like under the hood rice if not used normally.

Turbo and n/t talons can be guilty of rice. n/t drivers sadly just don't spend money on turbos and performance so much All rice is bad.

There's 2 riced nt's in town. And a few hondas. The hondas have b16's, twin fart can exhausts and black body kits, AND believe it or not. Green neon. They look like horrible versions of the hondas in the first F&F. It's terrible.

Honestly though, we have a lot of domestic rice around here. Cavaliers, and neon's looking very silly. And even some riced out thunderbirds and mustangs.
