If I do that, do I need a datalogger afther that or something?

Thanks

Check these sites out.
"Rewiring the fuel pump with a larger gauge wire can help the stock pump (or any aftermarket pump) maintain higher fuel pressure/volume throughout its' entire operating range, as the stock wire is pretty small. The small wire limits the voltage to the pump, and under high boost, the lower voltage can severely affect fuel output. Some people have measured 10 volts or less at the pump under high boost with the stock wiring. Adding a larger wire and relay to feed the pump can restore the voltage to that of the battery (usually 13-14V), maximizing pump output."(credit for this quote goes to Tom Stangl)
www.vfaq.com Go to the fuel section and you will find the site, where the above quote was taken from: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/pump-relay.html
Now this quote was describing why and how you do it for a 1g but the above paragraph also fits for a 2g.

To rewire the 2g pump:
www.vfaq.com go to the fuel section and you will find this site: http://www.raktron.com/fuel/rewire1.html

The vfaq page is a very useful page.

No data logging tool is needed.
Positives
1. steady voltage to the pump
2. In most cases, higher voltage to the pump which increases the pumps output(more fuel)
3. Allow the pump to work as it was designed

Possible negative
1. With certain aftermarket fuel pumps rewiring it will cause the pump to over run the stock AFPR. I've yet to see a rewired stock pump over run it but someone else can verify this(not 100% sure on this one). The good thing about over running the stock regulator is that it gives you a great excuse to upgrade it :D

If I haven't lost you yet...LOL Here's some more useful info:
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/fuelpumptechtip.htm
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/fuelpumpflowrates.htm

Lots of info but I hope this helps. :thumb:

To the OP: Imagine what a little search turned up; all this could've been answered all by yourself.
Also the rewired fuel pump won't even come close to overrunning the stock regulator. In the RRE article, the only thing that comes close is the rewires 2g pump at 43 PSI, running 156l/h through. This is a far cry from the Walboro 190l/h, which still doesn't overrun the stock FPR. You'll be quite fine on a rewired unit.
Very good info, VBGSX. You have more patience than I do :thumb:
