Returning DSMer with some N/A questions

I used to own a 92 Talon TSi AWD and an ex took it with her when she left.... so now my sister is giving me her 92 eclipse non turbo automatic.. yeah i know.. crappy but its a free DSM.. so seeing as her engine is brand new i was wondering a couple of things.
#1 where can i go to get some performance parts online.. everywhere i go lists stuff for turbo DSMs...
#2 are the exhaust systems the same besides the manifolds? like from the cat back are they the same?
#3 which springs would be a good idea for the suspension.. her ex cut the stock ones instead of buying lowering springs...

The main things i am looking for are headers and intakes.. i see the punishment one and people keep talking about the pacesetter ones.. but i wouldnt put those on a chevette... so any suggestions would be great... i see the 2g tuning guide for non-turbos... but there isnt one for 1g

if i was you id go for the punishment headers. i had the pacesetters and they were good but you had to use there downpipe and exhaust with em. or find a n/t exhaust

the punishment header uses a fwd gst downpipe. basically you use the 2.5 gst downpipe and exhaust with the header. this leaves more room for choice. just find a gst 2.5 inch exhaust and downpipe and your good.


for springs go with eibachs. there very good in everyones opinion. there are others but eibach seems to be what everyoen chooses. you will need to upgrade the shocks also with lowering springs.


as far as where to buy, everythign internaly on the motor is the same except the compression ratio of the pistons. everythign else is the same. the cams are different on all the cars also.

punishment racing is a good shop
extrememotorsports has a n/t header under downpipes
machv has stuff sometimes, i got 11:0:1 pistons from them a while back
hop up racing has a lot of stuff
dsm motorsport has good stuff.


those are a few shops. machv has the injen n/t intake and weapon r just brought out a n./t intake for the 1g 2.0 n/t. thats it as far as intakes unless oyu make one.

thanks bro... i think i will go with the punishment header... looks cool.. i dont know what the ad above here says starting at 185.. the cheapest ones on the website are over $300 so if anyone knows how to get one for 185 let me know.. as for the springs i was thinking the eibach.. those are what i had on my talon and i like em... might as well go all out and get the adjuatable shocks too.. as for 2.5 exhaust you have any you like more than others? i really dont feel like paying $700 for a cat back from HKS .. talk about rape.. anyways.. thanks for your help..

DO THE ALTERNATOR WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR HEADER OFF. youll thank me later.

as for 4exhaust i like the rnr and a few others look ok, i have a few custom setups in mind.

get a pacesetter 2.5 catback for the n/t, hack off the muffler, put any universal muffler you want in its place. unlimited possiblilties. well you knwo what i mean

yeah i looked at one and it looks like i need to take the drivers side fan off and maybe that would give me enough room to work.. i just have to replace that before i can drive it home.. its in cincinnati and i am in dayton.. like a 45 minute drive.. i dont think running without the alternator would work for that long.. ...

if i were to spend money on exhaust i would just get a custom one done before i would buy a pacesetter one.. but i understand what you are talking about. i will have to go look at rnr.. thanks again. like i said i would love to pull the engine and tranny and switch out for a turbo engine and manual tranny but they are both only like 3 months old in this car.. so i will probably build it up and drive it around for a while until something goes wrong then get the other engine and tranny..,.
