So i stacked a rod bearing a year and a half ago, decided to build the bottom end. At that time it had a dyno tune from English.

Since then I've done forged rods, forged pistons (same compression) balance delete, new pumps/belts,ARP everything, 3g lifters, oil cooler, and sparkplug wires.

I have the same compression, same turbo, same cams and same injectors etc.

Ideally one should always retune after any major work, but since I have not changed any fuel, Compression or timing aspects, I think it is fine on the old tune. Later this year I plan on adding a 125 shot, so ill pay the $750 to retune then. Let's hear your thoughts (please keep them productive) .

Please tell me 750$ is a mistype.. What are you using to tune?

Discusing prices/deal on a forum that you have a privilige to have. may not get you the same deal next time.

with that being said. your tune will be fine.

That was what Kaizen speed quoted me today. $750 for an all day dyno tune. And it's with V3. Do I need to retune with a wet kit at all?

If you have link v3, just get to know it well and tune conservatively on your own. A wealth of knowledge exists on the link forum as well as here. You can learn everything there is to know about it over a weekend playing around with it. Assuming you have the appropriate monitoring sensors to log with.

If your stuck in a bind, post a log.

Wow and you just said sure??? My local shop charges 250 for a quick tune and 350 for an hour.... You must be rich if your paying that much for a tune on link..... I can tune link myself with no experience and just a little reading and they charged you 750?!? :applause:

Well honestly, I thought it was high, but English is like 8 hours away and I don't know anyone else that's as reputable. I know Trevor Holland personally, and have considered having him do it. What it boils down to, is quality. I want someone who's going to spend real time tuning and get picky with it. I don'twant to do two pulls and have them tell me im done. I just spent $3k building, I want a good tune LOL.

750 for an all day tune. I guess he is trying to work 8-8:30 that morning and still get paid for a full booked day. Not a bad idea if it works.

Kaizen is a Japanese concept based around reaching maximum efficiency by analyzing processes and eliminating/streamlining everything possible. Sounds like this is not a practicing kaizen work facility. I wonder what color belt they have?

I tuned a 700hp 1g today, setup the nitrous stall map, built the Ve table from scratch, ect in about 5 hours... A simple pump gas setup should cost you no more than 300-400 bucks. We charge a re-tune rate that's by the hour and starts at 150 bucks if someone was to do a simple change like you did. I could Etune this for you if you would like.
