ok heres my problem. I need a picture or a drawing or some advice of some sorts. On A 420A non turbo car, there is a vacuum line coming off of the throttle body....where is it supposed to run to...someone plugged it instead of routing it where it needs to go. and now the car is idling at about 3 grand.
any help is greatly appreciated

I believe the one your talking about is for emissions it goes towards the passenger side and there should be a plastic tube maybe its metal that's behind your intake manifold. That's where it used to go or should go.

These are not my cars but just use for reference and follow it then go look on your car

That’s the EVAP canister down by the passenger side fender, the previous owner probably blocked it off. Blocking it off shouldn’t cause you to have a high idle. What engine codes do you have other then code 31 (EVAP)? Just listen for any hisses while the engine is running and hope it’s not the IAC.

i dont think its the evap canister. there isa hose on the top of the throttle body and judging from the pics given it looks like it runs into the manifold...i dunno ill try my luck when i get thru eating supper

I know that's what it is on mine and a few other people's cars I've worked on. Should be the evap canister unless someone has routed it elsewhere. Scan it for CEL's if you hear no hisses, beats the hell out of guessing. Here is a lil' pic I stole off the internets that paul made a while back.

The pictures are a little deceiving they do not go to the manifold it runs to a line that runs to the underside of where your power steering reservoir is. The about diagram is how it should be but the diagram runs that particular line different.

The red arrows point to the line you are looking for its the top one of those two lines.

Exactly how mine was stock

i have a 99 gs n/t and its popping a cel of 1494 i look at the back of the intake manifold and i find that the tee to the far left is missing a hose and cant find a diagram to see where it runs the diagram on the hood isnt any help i was wondering if the diagram above is similar or the same? also the three port tee on the diagram says that vacuum line to fpr not present in late style fuel systems does that also relate to my vehichle? any help would be awesome because i need to clear this code to pass emissions.

Your vehicle is late model; You will not have the FPR line. Make sure the nipple for it is plugged.
