[RESOLVED] just installed a Injen short ram- rain threat?

Yeah that is nowhere near behind your front bumper. When 1slow97 talks about being behind your front bumper he means much lower towards the bottom part of your front bumper; because if that were case and you hit a deep enough puddle where your bumper submerged abit, your intake would literally suck up the water. In your case you would have to hit a big puddle, or more like a small lake, to reach that intake.

Don't mean to jump in just elaborating a scenario where he would have to worry...

my buddy had an aem cold air intake that sat as lo as it posibly could, he told me that aem makes a bypass valve ( it goes in place of a coupler) and its saposed to eliminate that rain threat. so if your still uneasy about rain geting sucked up go get one of them. but i think you will be fine aswell:thumb:

If you install one of those AEM bypass valves, it negates any advantage the CAI has over a SRI. Not like it's much power difference anyway (like 1, maybe 2 hp).

Stick with a SRI like you have and you should have no problems

you shouldnt need a bypass valve anyways.. the filter does an awesome job of not lettling any water in.. ive degreased my engine before and soaked the filter and i was fine - never had any problems. the only thing you hafta worry about is when the filter gets completely submerged with water and has no air to take in.. this happend to both my friends coming home from work one night wen it was raining.. ther engines shut off and they tried to start them back up again and well, they had to get new crate engines
