i got a small problem i need to fix before winter hits. the falling leaves warn me that theres gonna be trouble ahead of me soonROFL.

i have to crank the car for about 10 seconds in order to start it and even when it does starts, i cant hit the throttle more then 20% or else the engine dies. it sounds like im getting multiple misfires when i start the car.now i thought it was the coolant temp sensor going and i checked and it was just fine since i was getting a reading from the gauge cluster
i have to sit there and let it warm up for about 10 mins. i properly gapped/replaced the plugs with NGK and tried new plug wires also. no known boost leaks either.

what could be my issue?

it starts up just fine when its warmed up...
any ideas??

My 1g done this but a little worse and mine was cause by my mass. I switched to the 2g mass and have not had a problem with it starting since.

The coolant temp sensor doesn't send the signal for the gauge cluster, there is a separate single wire for that. The ECT sends it's signal to the ECU, do you have a logger? If so see if you get a coolant temp reading from that. Also physically inspect the wiring on the ECT to make sure it hasn't got messed up.

ohh i think i know what your talking about. the small metal clip on the side of the housing.

im gonna have to double check on the coolant temp sensor.

check the two wire coolant temp sensor, use a ohm meter to check the resistance and make sure the wires have continuity all the way to the ecu

checked the coolant temp. sensor and rewired the harness.
ill keep an update if it still does it in the morning or not.
