Ok i searched and hadnt seen a problem like mine so here goes.

i just put a new Motor mount on and then put everthing back on. The car started fine and i drove it to get gas, i gave it a little boost on the way there and it was fine. Then when i was driving home i gave it a lot of boost and it popped and stuttered and then died. I pulled over and it was idling real, real low and i couldnt adust it. So i drove it home not to far and the boost gauge read about 10psi but the car couldnt go over 10mph!

Next day i checked for leaks, clamps that were not tightened. Now it would start then die right away. After boost leak test i left the intake to the turbo off the car starts fine and idles perfect. i got a new K&n filter cause the previous one was black!

Installed filter no luck but...when i disconnect my maf sensor( the one that connects to the honeycomb thing) the car runs perfect just throws up the CEL, when i plug it in it idles low then dies right away.

so i think its the maf but not sure what to do or buy to get it running ...thanks for reading this long ass post i just wanted to be as descriptive as possible so you guys can understand more...thanks :thumb:

Sounds to me like you have a bad maf. head to a junk yard and grab a new one and see if that work you can also try a 2gen Maf from either a galant the only year I have used was a 95 galant but i am sure some will chime in and add more years. As to the process of putting it in here is a link for ya read it thru reall good

hope this works for ya

ok thanks i wasnt sure if that was it, hopefully thats it...i am gonna buy one tomorrow for $20, not bad i guess :D

Ok, i got a new maf and it still wont work! Now i've noticed with the maf sensor unplugged it idles and sounds right but the boost/vaccum gauge dosent move from the bottom when reved...

Then when plugged in it idles a little bit above 500 and it read like 5psi without any pushing of the throttle....what the f**k?

oh and when i floor it when its unplugged it wont go past 2500rpms...

Help!

check again for hoses that have come unclamped

^^^^^^ what an idoit...right?

Yep i'm an idot WTF

it turns out my uncle had loosened a intercooler pipe that led to the front of the core!!!
so when i drove and used a lot of boost it popped off and hid underneath the front bumper... 6 days later...$60 later...and about 6 hours later...it s back to running normal just idles a tad high

"So thats why the boost leak test didnt work?":beatentodeath:
