replaced crank pulley now Crazy squealing PLEASE HELP!!!

hey i have a 2 g with a 16g with all supporting mods, i just replaced the crank pully with a aftermarket aluminum pulley, it is the pulley that has two slots, i didnt use the one for the ac since i dont use it , and the other two belts are tight, the one that goes to the water pump and alt and the water pump to powersteering are both very tight, i have this crazy squealing that happens, i tryed wd 40ing all the pulleys thinking they needed a lube, but no help ,and i also tryed some belt dressing and still no help, sometimes the squealing goes away, then comes back , im completely confused :confused:
please help !!!
 
Stop using WD40 and belt dressing on your belts. It's just going to ruin them. Those belts require friction in order to turn when the pullies turn. That stuff you are spraying on the belts REDUCES friction. Tighten up the alternator belt some more, and the squealing will go away.
 
did you use quality oem belts..........i used two sets of aftermarket belts a set from autozone and a set from pepboys and they both sucked dont know y.

Where do you mainly hear it from? I had a problem where the Alternator started screeching internally every time I started the car. I figured it was the bushing so i exchanged it for free. thank goodness for lifetime warranty.

If not keep us updated. Cause i know you and probably your neighbors hate your car for this screech :banghead:
 
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it could possibly be your harmonic balancer going out. I believe thats fairly common on dsms, and squeeling belts are definitely common on them LOL. It seems like you just need to check the wear and tear on each of the things the belts are wrapped around.

I'm sorry, I totally did not connect the term "crank pulley" to "harmonic balancer" LOL.

It's a harmonic dampener. :thumb:

To the OP, I'd get a factory pulley or a Fluidampr one. Aluminum ones are not a good idea.

... if you want to eventually shatter the crank, keep using that aluminum pulley since it can't take out the vibrations from the crank as does the above mentioned pulleys/harmonic balancers can.

..or put back on the stock one-it's better for the motor anywhos ..
