removing tranny

well im in need of pulling my transmission out in order to drop my engine back in my question is do i need to completly remove everything like if i was replacing the axles or can i leave the axle and rotors attached and just pop out the axles. if anyone has pictures or if theres a tread point me in the right direction please..

Yes, you can pop out the axles. I believe that involves removing the strut bolts that attach to the knuckle.

You can leave the axles in, though it is easier if they are out.

Yeah and when you are wiggling it around to bring it down on top of you, don't start thrashing it around like an idiot. Use your eyes, it will come out without a sledge hammer. Promise.
