Removing stock 97 eclipse gsx head.

I am trying to take the head and intake off the engine, but I tried taking out the first bolt (like it shows in Chilton's) and it won't loosen up. I tried a 13mm socket because that was the only one that fit but it spun without loosening the bolt. Is there anything someone can recommend to me to be able to take out the bolts? TIA.

Aren't the head bolts 12 point bolts?
